From Anne:

“This project proved to be challenging and I made numerous mistakes. But, as I stitched I thought about the frontline workers who couldn’t afford to stay home and avoid large groups of people. I thought about all the people who have no other option than to use public transport. Multi-generational families all living under one roof and those with compromised health issues. How they must be feeling. Families with loved ones residing in nursing homes and the many people dying alone because of the risk of contracting the virus. People dying alone. We have had several family members diagnosed with COVID but fortunately they recovered. I was feeling hopeful and then a good friend of ours contracted the virus and after a month in the hospital, he died.
I really appreciate this opportunity to be part of a very important collaborative art project. It has been meaningful, probably so for all participants. I think it will also be impactful for viewers.”
